As we turn the page on another year, we can hardly believe how quickly the time has passed and how much we have accomplished together. This year has been a rollercoaster for many of us, filled with soaring heights and a few challenging turns. Yet through it all, the Habitat for Humanity Quad Cities community has continued to grow stronger. We were thrilled to welcome new friends into our program and celebrated the birth of three new babies to Habitat Partner families.
As our families grow and change, so has our impact on affordable housing throughout the Quad Cities. New friendships have blossomed into lasting partnerships, like our collaboration with the Jaycees to install an accessibility ramp at Café on Vine, helping our friends who serve hot meals to neighbors in need. Our Central City Repair Program has dedicated volunteers completing repairs that uplift homes, restore dignity, and strengthen entire neighborhoods.
Still, the heart of our mission remains our partner families. They continue to inspire us every day. Whether it is getting to know our partner families at ReStore, hearing Ruthie’s beautiful voice, or being charmed by Afi and Raf at Build a Dream, future Habitat homeowners fill every interaction with joy and hope. Each accomplishment along their journey to homeownership reflects thepower of helping hands and the spirit of a community that believes in building a better future together.
Every dollar contributed is more than just a donation. It’s a declaration that we will not turn away. That we will not leave our neighbors behind. That we will build the kind of community we want to live in 2x4 by 2x4, family by family, home by home.

In Support of Habitat for Humanity Quad Cities
The Habitat program is a multi-prong approach to breaking the cycle of poverty. First, we work to identify low income families who can’t qualify for traditional mortgages and who have a need for better housing options. We pair this family with a mentor who helps them through the process of building a new home. In addition, the families must complete 250 hours per adult of “sweat equity” before they can move into their new home. They must also complete a series of classes relating to budgeting, home maintenance, and other information pertaining to successful home ownership. Once the program and build is complete the Partner Family will close on their new home with a zero percent mortgage and low down payment. Habitat for Humanity holds this mortgage to ensure that the family’s payments are no more than 30% of their monthly income. The mortgage payments they make are paid forward to help us build homes for future families.Habitat for Humanity Quad Cities builds strength, stability, and self-reliance through affordable housing. In addition to the Home Building program, we also operate a Home Repair and Neighborhood Revitalization program.
