Habitat for Humanity Quad Cities builds strength, stability, and self-reliance through home ownership. If you are interested in purchasing a new Habitat home please, attend this FREE virtual information meeting to learn about the application process.
Once selected for the Habitat program, families are paired with a mentor who will work with them throughout the program. Families will contribute at least 250 "sweat equity" hours (volunteer hours) per adult during the program before they close on their new home. In addition to the knowledge learned on the job sites, families also must participate in a series of classes geared toward successful home ownership including topics like budgeting, maintenance, and disaster planning. A typical family will spend between 12 and 36 months with Habitat before they get the keys to their new home.
If your household makes at least $28,000 per year, you have a need for safe affordable housing, and you are willing to partner with Habitat for Humanity, our program may be right for you. Our future homeowners pay a low down payment, and have a zero-percent interest mortgage, with affordable mortgage payments at 30% or less of their income.
These meetings are held once a year, at which time applications to the program will be accepted for a two-week period. Applications can be picked up at the Habitat office AFTER the meetings. Please call the office if you need accomodations for the meeting or assistance with your application.
