Habitat for Humanity Quad Cities builds strength, stability, and self-reliance through home ownership. If you are interested in purchasing a new Habitat home please attend this FREE virtual workshop to learn more.
Once selected for the Habitat program, families are paired with a mentor who will work with them throughout the program. Families are expected to contribute up to 250 "sweat equity" hours (volunteer hours) per adult before they close on their new home. In addition to the knowledge learned on the job sites, families also participate in classes geared toward successful home ownership such as budgeting, maintenance, and disaster planning. A typical family will spend between 12 and 24 months with Habitat before they get the keys to their new home.
If you make at least $26,500 per year, have a need for safe affordable housing, and are willing to partner with Habitat for Humanity, our program may be right for you. Our future homeowners pay a low down payment, and have a zero-percent mortgage with affordable mortgage payments at 30% of their income.
Homeowner workshops are held at various times throughout the year at which time applications to the program open for a two week period.
