Habitat for Humanity Quad Cities builds strength, stability, and self-reliance through home-ownership. If you are interested in purchasing a new Habitat home please attend this FREE two hour work-shop.
Once selected for the Habitat program, families are paired with a mentor who will work with them throughout the program. Families are expected to contribute up to 250 "sweat equity" hours (volunteer hours) per adult before they close on their new home. In addition to the knowledge learned on the job sites, families also participate in classes geared toward successful home-ownership such as budgeting, maintenance, and conflict resolution. A typical family will spend between 12 and 18 months with Habitat before they get the keys to their new home.
If you make at least $26,500 per year, have a need for safe affordable housing, and are willing to partner with Habitat for Humanity our program may be right for you. Our future home-owners pay a zero percent mortgage with an affordable down payment. We work to ensure no family's mortgage payment exceeds 30% of their monthly household income. Homeowner workshops are held at various times throughout the year at which time the applications to the program open for a two week period.
